Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper received a loud ovation from the Fenway faithful Wednesday night before delivering the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Red Sox-Toronto Blue Jays game.
As injured Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas crouched behind home plate, the right-hander delivered a one-hopper that landed well outside the strike zone.
On the plus side, Cooper was completely blown away by the response from the crowd in Boston, where she spent her college years. There were hordes of her loyal listeners lining the block around Fenway in Kenmore.
To mark the occasion, Fenway offered fans a Daddy Margarita and a vodka-lemonade drink called Cooper’s Curveball. But Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed due to severe weather conditions in the Boston area.
The 29-year-old, who dated several professional athletes while playing football at Boston University, revealed she was asked to throw out the first pitch at a Red Sox game last week.

“All my ex-boyfriends, I’m speaking directly to you,” Cooper said in an Instagram post.
“The Red Sox asked me, not you, to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park,” she continued.
“Let’s have tequila shots, let’s go Boston.”
She spoke about the news in a recent podcast episode, in which she also talked about her whirlwind 2014 romance with an anonymous, well-known baseball player.
Cooper was a sophomore in college when she dated the professional athlete affectionately known as “Red Sox Man,” who was 13 years older than her.
The pair hooked up at a bar after his team won the World Series, and they began a casual affair that left Cooper wondering if the “veteran” baseball player even liked her.
She recalls an incident where he lied to her about going home early, only for her to run into him at a nightclub with her friends.

“Unfortunately, Red Sox Man wasn’t in the mood to go to the clubs with Al’ and her friends after one of his games,” Cooper recalled on Wednesday’s episode of her podcast.
‘So my friends and I made our own plans and decided to go to this club. Not long after arriving, none other than Red Sox Man enters.
‘[Red Sox Man] had told me ‘oh honey, I’m not really in the mood, like I think I’m going to call it early this evening, like I’m just going to order in.'”
Cooper noted that her ex was with his “teammates and a bunch of girls,” which made her “immediately want to throw up.”
“I’m trying to make eye contact with him so he can see me because I’m convinced he’s definitely going to invite me,” she continued, before revealing that he “obviously didn’t want anything to do with her.”
Her solution to his lack of interest was to follow him to the men’s room.
“If I had thought rationally, I would have realized that the club is probably not the best place to have a conversation with someone,” Cooper said.
‘[But] I’m a monster right now… so I blacked out and focused on my mission. I follow this man into the public men’s room of the club, I just walk straight in.
“He’s sitting in one of the cubicles and before he has a chance to lock the cubicle, I push the door open and I think, ‘We need to talk.’ He turns around with his dick in his hand and he’s completely fucking embarrassed.”
However, the couple did not go home together, as the next morning she woke up to a message from the player, from which Cooper concluded that ‘men like crazy’ women.
Time Magazine named Cooper ‘arguably the most successful woman in podcasting’ in 2021
She first opened up about her relationship with the athlete in a 2021 episode of her podcast.
“It was awesome… I got to bring all my friends. We’d go to the games. Like, it was a cool lifestyle,” Cooper said at the time.
‘This man was the epitome of making money driving his damn Aston Martin. I’m in his penthouse after my damn last class, the day before I go to practice.’
Despite the pros, Cooper said there were many cons, including the fact that she was never the only woman in the photo.
‘I was walked everywhere. “I was treated like shit,” she said. “He really opened my eyes to some of the most psychotic, intense games it was possible to play.”
Cooper moved on with another baseball player, former Mets and Angeles star Noah Syndergaard, before tying the knot with film producer Matt Kaplan earlier this year.
