A California woman and her 21-year-old lover have been arrested for the murder of her husband outside his Hayward home in October.

Razma Mohammad-Ibrahim, 35, and Samim Azizi, 21, are accused of stabbing Mohammed-Ibrahim’s husband Parwiz Assar, 51, to death outside his home near Lance Way and Tucker Street.

Hayward police found Assar with stab wounds after responding to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Authorities gathered a series of internet searches, text messages, phone records, surveillance footage and even a chilling post on Mohammed-Ibrahim’s Instagram account as evidence against the couple.

Mohammed-Ibrahim had posted Selena Gomez’s song “Single Soon” to her Instagram account on the same day Assar was killed. Mercury News reports this.

Text messages revealed Mohammed-Ibrahim and Azizi’s affair, as well as serious marital problems between Mohammed-Ibrahim and Assar.

The couple was married for 12 years before Mohammad-Ibrahim and Azizi met and reportedly started dating around December 2022.

Authorities believe the couple orchestrated the attack to allow Razma to leave her marriage, “gain full custody of her children and dispose of all family assets.”

Text messages between the lovers included a discussion about how “strong” the knife Azizi had chosen the day before the murder.

According to police, Azizi Mohammed-Ibrahim also texted a photo of himself hiding in a bush outside the married couple’s Hayward home shortly before police say he jumped out and stabbed Assar repeatedly.

“Look where I am,” he texted Mohammed-Ibrahim.

“Be careful,” she allegedly replied.

The stabbing itself, in which a masked man jumps out of the bushes and attacks Assar, was captured by the property’s Ring camera.

Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim reportedly found her husband’s body and ran to her neighbors’ door to tell them to call 911.

Hours later, Mohammed-Ibrahim agreed to an interview at Hayward police station, where she reportedly denied that the couple had marital problems or that they had argued about her having an affair.

However, police say their records show that just two weeks earlier, Hayward officers were called to the home for a domestic disturbance.

A friend of Assar’s later came forward and told investigators that Assar had asked to stay at his home, fearing his wife was planning to attack him, police said in court filings.

21-year-old Samim Azizi was arrested in Seattle, Washington and is being held without bail in the King County Jail pending extradition to California.

Mohammed-Ibrahim was taken into custody in Hayward and is being held without bail at the Santa Rita County Jail, the documents state. She has to appear in court in December.
