A California high school teacher was granted leave after secretly calling a student a “rebellious little kid” and saying, “I just want to slam her face against the wall.”
English teacher Robert Bean, 53, was recorded by a student during a class at Cajon High School in San Bernardino in a video that went viral on TikTok.
Since the video was uploaded a week ago, it has prompted other current and former students at the school to post comments online sharing their own experiences with Bean.
In the video, which begins halfway through a sentence, Bean can be heard saying, “…because she thinks she’s funny. She’s a rude, defiant little kid that I just want to bang her face against the wall.’
He’ll say, ‘That’s how angry I get when people do this, and it’s mostly because I’m old-fashioned, guys. I’m 53 years old…’

The secret recording caused enough of a stir for other Cajon High School students to come forward and comment on Bean.
Megan Soult is an alumnus who graduated 12 years ago. She told local media that the English teacher was making comments about an autoimmune disease she developed while in school.
“He embarrassed me, he humiliated me in front of my entire class, with my not only very private, but my very personal medical information,” Soult told KTLA.
“To see this many years later and to hear how many people have brought this to the attention of the school’s administrative staff and still nothing has been done is just mind-boggling.”
She told Fox 11 that she reported him to the school in 2009 for abusive behavior.
“I was bullied and harassed by him at a time when I really needed support and guidance from my teacher and I will remember it forever,” she told the channel.

Cajon High School is a school in northern Bernardino, California. Robert Bean has been teaching there for at least a decade
“He’s done things like this in the past. He yelled at students. He called them various insults,” said Blaine Anderson, a current senior at Cajon.
“For him specifically, a line was crossed when he made specific threats about a specific student. Not only was it unprofessional, it shouldn’t have been on campus at all,” Mia Munoz, another current senior, told KTLA.

The San Bernardino City Unified School District issued a statement to KTLA stating, “We have been monitoring the same posts on social media and are aware of the comments.
“We have opened an investigation and posted a phone number where families can share relevant information to be part of the investigation.”
In a similar statement, the district told Fox 11:
“SBCUSD placed Mr. Bean on administrative leave this morning. We are investigating the allegations posted on social media. We can’t say more about this situation, because we have to protect the privacy of our employees in this.’
