California rocked by earthquake as state battles deadly wildfires

An earthquake struck California on Friday as the state battled deadly wildfires.

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake was detected around 7:02 a.m. PT near the San Francisco Bay area, with the epicenter about five miles southwest of the Golden Gate Bridge and two miles west of the GreatHighway.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) shows that more than 5,000 people felt the shock in the area – and that number is growing.
