California Governor Gavin Newsom is heckled during disastrous visit to Skid Row
A recent video of California Governor Gavin Newsom being harassed during a visit to Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles is making the rounds on the internet.
Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass held a press conference at the Downtown Women’s Center on October 30 to discuss funding for homelessness in LA communities.
After the event ended, Newsom took a walk through Skid Row, an area notorious for its overwhelming homeless encampments, where the Democrat was mercilessly questioned and criticized by a group called the Los Angeles Community Action Network.
‘Do you see how dirty these streets are? These streets haven’t been clean, the city hasn’t brought in a single trash can,” a heckler off camera yelled at the governor, according to the video.
The heckler directly behind the camera called out Newsom for ignoring a woman he passed who talked about how her children were taken from her while she was stuck in a tent.

The video features Newsom firing back at the troublemakers: “The HHAP money, the prioritization continues to be a framework for housing, services, shelters, all dormitories and homelessness support services,” Newsom said.
‘Temporary housing has a role, real estate housing is important. I’m not against shelters, but those are decisions your local government has to make.”
The cameraman then said, “Yes, but what counts as housing?”
The group continued to insult Newsom, accusing him of failing to make real change for the homeless.
At one point, Newsom stops, turns to the heckler, waits for him to finish, raises his hand and says, “Careful, man, okay, good to spend time with you,” to which the man responded: ‘Do the right thing. !’
The group blasted Newsom and accused him of failing to make real change for the homeless.
The Golden State’s budget deficit is at least $45 billion, a shortfall so large that it has prompted Newsom to propose painful cuts that will impact immigrants, preschoolers and low-income parents seeking child care in a state that is often praised for being the fifth largest economy in the world.
California spent $24 billion over the past five years to address homelessness, but did not track whether the money helped the state’s growing number of unhoused people.
The governor was previously called out by a reporter after he continued to dodge questions about inflating state spending.
