A teenager in California approached serious injuries to his face and hands after a vape exploded, burning by bones and ligaments.
The fifteen-year-old Aiden Dean Adams was evaporating with friends under a viaduct close to his house in Bakersfield when the filled device of Nicotine burned when he lifted it to his mouth and sent granely shards into his face.
Aiden walked to the road, his hand damn and mutilated, and put it out to hitch a ride with a passing driver who brought him home to shocked parents. They called 911 and within a few minutes an ambulance Aiden seemed to bring to the hospital.
Doctors spent hours operating his mutilated hands, including the recovery of his thumb, which was ‘almost completely chopped’ and part of his middle and wise fingertips amputated.

His father, Robert Dean Adams, said that he and his wife had argued at Aiden not to do it because of the countless health risks, including lung diseases, heart injury and addiction: “But I am not ignorant – he is a teenager.”
