Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams limped off the field with seconds left on the clock after being inexplicably kept on the field during his team’s tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
With less than 30 seconds on the clock and the Bears trailing the Cardinals by 20 points, Williams took a hit and crawled into space before rolling over while holding the back of his left leg.
He then slowly climbed to his feet and staggered off the field in deeply disturbing scenes for the Bears and their starting quarterback.
It was unclear why Bears coach Matt Eberflus had kept his quarterback on the field when the game was over for his team. But it could be a season-ending decision if Williams is seriously injured.
With Sunday’s loss, the Bears are 4-4 on the season and last in the NFC North.

“I’m sorry, this just doesn’t make sense to me,” Charles Davis said on CBS while calling the play.
“This is your starting quarterback. I don’t think he should have stayed there for those two minutes.’
