Fans took to social media to joke after a clip of one of the most disastrous goals of all time began circulating on social media.

The clip comes from Saturday’s Ukrainian Premier League clash between Veres Rivne and Vorskla.

Just 20 minutes into the first half, Vorskla had taken a comfortable two-goal lead thanks to a goal from Vladlen Yurchenko and an own goal from Valerij Kucherov.

However, the hosts were about to strike back, thanks to a hilarious series of mistakes.

Vorskla’ keeper Pavlo Isenko, inexplicably wearing the number 7 shirt, starts the sequence by briefly playing the ball out of his goal kick, putting immediate pressure on his teammate.

The confusion allows Stanislav Sharay to capitalize and hit home from the six-yard box

The ball is then passed back to the hapless stopper, with Brazilian striker Iago Siqueira attempting to intercept.

Vorskla again has the ball, but a clash between Isenko and his defender results in an open goal for Veres midfielder Stanislav Sharay, who duly reverses from six yards out.

Aside from a cacophony of mistakes, Volska held on to her lead to secure their first points of the season, but that didn’t stop fans from sharing jokes online about the game’s unfortunate passage.

Specsavers joined fans on social media to poke at the unfortunate series of events

Another added: ‘The first time I saw this it felt like red started to defend and white started to attack. Had to rewatch to find out what even happened’

Another fan agreed: ‘It took me a while to see who’s attacking’

Another joked: “If you’re trying to score your little brother a goal in FIFA but don’t want to make it too obvious:”

Meanwhile, Specsavers’ notoriously cheeky social media team couldn’t help but join in on the fun, with the optician tweeting, ‘**rubs hands**’ at the sight of the defensive bust.
