Caitlyn Jenner slams Dylan Mulvaney as ‘fringe’ and ‘not good’ for the LGBT movement

Caitlin Jenner revealed she has never spoken to fellow transgender woman Dylan Mulvaney and never will — as she lashed out at Nike for “awake” partnership with the TikTok star.

Jenner, 73, who transitioned physically in 2017, has long been outspoken about her distaste for Mulvaney — having criticized her after the 26-year-old suggested that “women can have bulges” and that needs to be “normalized.”

She has now doubled down on her position, calling the former Broadway star “random” and “not good” for the LGBT+ community.

“The fringe is the worst thing that can happen to the trans community and the media only wants to cover it for sensationalism [sic] of it and frankly that needs to stop,” Jenner told the New York Post. “I try to be the adult in the room for the LGBT community. She is not. She bounces in all directions. I have nothing in common with her.

“I’m happy with the position I’m in today, that I can be a voice of reason about what’s going on out there.”

Now the former Olympian has taken issue with Mulvaney’s recent Nike partnership, which has drawn backlash from conservatives.

“As someone who grew up in awe of what [Nike co-founder] Phil Knight does, it’s a shame to see such an iconic American company wake up like this!’ Jenner wrote on Twitter.

Mulvaney, who gained popularity with her Days of Girlhood series, posted videos and photos to her Instagram page in early April, tagging Nike Women, while linking to product pages.

Outraged feminists, and some men, criticized Nike’s decision to give coveted sponsorship for a prominent women’s line to a transgender woman.

It is not the first time that Nike has used a trans star in their marketing, launching their ‘Play New’ campaign in 2021 featuring Mara Gomez, the first trans woman to play in Argentina’s professional football league.

Mulvaney, who has not yet undergone sex reassignment surgery, appeared in black skintight leggings and a white sports bra in the video, and was seen doing eye-catching yoga poses in a sunny backyard.

A video showed her dancing around the yard in her bare feet doing mock workouts while an upbeat song played about the performance.

Mulvaney has also received backlash over her Bud Light campaign, which forced the company’s VP of marketing to take a leave of absence.

The Mulvaney controversy started on April 3 when Bud Light sent her custom cans with her face. The gift served as the start of the parties’ since-confirmed collaboration, further confirmed by a subsequent post from Mulvaney, in which she appeared in a bathing suit in a bathtub while drinking a Bud Light.

Alissa Heinerscheid, VP of Marketing, was hired in June 2022 to overhaul Bud Light’s marketing with a vision to refresh its image.

But that took a disastrous turn when the partnership with Mulvaney was announced, triggering a boycott and knocking $6 billion off the company’s value.

Heinerscheid will be replaced by the vice president of global marketing for Budweiser, Todd Allen.

Kid Rock was one of the first to criticize the partnership and lead a boycott, with other conservative consumers, distributors and suppliers following suit.

The feud between Mulvaney and Jenner began in October 2022 when Jenner slammed the star, saying, “Let’s not ‘normalize’ anything this person does.”

The feud between Mulvaney and Jenner began in October 2022 when Jenner slammed the star, saying, “Let’s not ‘normalize’ anything this person is doing after the TikTok star called on people to ‘normalize the bulge.’

Tennessee politician Marsha Blackburn wrote on Twitter: “Dylan Mulvaney, Joe Biden and radical leftist lunatics want to make this absurdity normal.”

Jenner – arguably the most famous transgender woman in the world – echoed Blackburn’s concerns.

“Thanks for speaking up and having a backbone—one of the best senators we have. Let’s not “normalize” anything this person does. This is absurdity!’ she said.
