Caitlyn Jenner is coming clean about how involved she was in the release of her stepdaughter Kim Kardashian’s infamous 2007 sex tape.
The 73-year-old former Olympian claimed in Sky’s new docu-series House Of Kardashian that she had almost no knowledge of the tape’s content or release – and she tried to keep it that way.
“Whatever’s going on, I don’t know what it is and I’m going to the golf course,” she recalled, thinking at the time that her family was overwhelmed by controversy.
“To be honest with you, I just stayed out of it,” she continued.
Although Caitlyn claimed she had no role in the release of the tape, which was released in 2003, Kim’s costar and ex-boyfriend Ray J exclusively told DailyMail.com in May 2022 that Kim’s mother Kris Jenner had two watched different sex tapes before deciding which one to release.

However, Kris and Kim have always denied having any role in the release of the sex tape, and have long argued that it was leaked without their knowledge or consent.
‘Kris never spoke to me about it. I never talked to Kimberly about it. I don’t know what happened, why it happened,” Caitlyn continued in the documentary E! News.
The transgender icon was asked if Kim and Kris ‘worked together to release the sex tape’.
“I have no idea,” she claimed.
“I’ve never had that conversation,” she continued, before adding, “I didn’t want to have that conversation either.”
Kim’s sex tape was finally released after her family’s reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians was already in the works, but before it was filmed.
Much of the series premiere was spent addressing the bond amid Kim’s — and her family’s — newfound publicity and ridicule.
In that episode, Kris gave no indication that she was involved in the release of the tape, although she did admit that she was trying to make the best of an awkward situation.
“When I first heard about Kim’s sex tape, as her mother, I wanted to kill her,” she declared in the episode. ‘But as her manager I knew I had a job to do and I really just wanted her to move past that.’

But not everyone involved in the making of the sex tape shrugged off a Kardashian-Jenner role in its release.
In May 2022, Ray J spoke to DailyMail.com about the Kim Kardashian, Superstar tape, saying there were three different videos being considered for release, two of which were sex tapes starring him and Kim.
He also claimed that Kris watched the tapes – including the two videos of her daughter having oral sex and intercourse with Ray J – to determine which would be released.
The R&B singer claimed that Kim has always owned the original tapes, and that she currently owns the second unreleased tape.
He added that he had never owned any of the tapes, although he was allegedly in a business relationship with his ex and her mother.
‘I’ve never leaked anything. I have never leaked a sex tape in my life. It has never been a leak,” he said. “It’s always been an agreement and a partnership between Kris Jenner and Kim and me and we’ve always been partners since the beginning of this thing.”
He admitted that he had the original idea to release a sex tape, and Kim agreed, although she claimed that she was always against the idea of releasing a sex tape.
Ray J admitted that he regretted releasing the tapes for years, as he received a lot of criticism for releasing the tapes, but he said that he was prevented from defending himself publicly by the contract which he signed – which he claimed he agreed to without legal advice.
He said he decided to speak out after an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians featured Kim’s claims that she was worried Ray J was leaking more explicit material with her.

Her then-husband Kanye West subsequently obtained a laptop from Ray J that allegedly had more mature content, and the rapper said his family would no longer be ‘blackmailed’.
But Ray J painted a different picture, claiming he handed over the laptop for free after hearing Kim and Kanye were concerned about the content potentially being leaked.
Kim later claimed that it only included a single video of her and Ray J eating out, but he said it was fake and said it contained several photos and short videos of intimate scenes involving Kim and himself.
On a more damning note, he also claimed the laptop contained emails allegedly sent to him by Kim in the years after the 2007 sex tape release, which may have shared details of their alleged business arrangement and subsequent communications.
