Caitlyn Jenner reveals the ‘sad’ truth about her relationship with ex-wife Kris Jenner and admits being closer to some children than others
Caitlyn Jenner revealed the “sad” truth about her current relationship with ex-wife Kris Jenner during an interview on British daytime show This Morning on Wednesday.
The former Olympic athlete, 73, shared 22 years of marriage with the Kardashians mom, 67, and welcomed two children together, Kendall, 27, and Kylie, 26.
But ahead of the release of her three-part tell-all series House Of Kardashian, Caitlyn said their relationship over the years has certainly taken its toll, admitting it was “really sad.”
Caitlyn recalled her first meeting with Kris, which happened before she transitioned and was known as Bruce.
She said: ‘I had been single for six years and was really struggling with myself and who I was and how I fit into the world.

‘I had just turned forty and met Kris on a blind date, we hit it off from day one. Was it love at first sight? Pretty close to that, yes.
‘I was totally in awe of her and the way she lived her life – she had four children, I had four children… and we got married five and a half months later! It happened very quickly.’
As for their relationship now, she explained, “Well, Kris, I never really talk to that anymore. Yes, it’s sad.
“If there is any communication, my manager talks to her and when you have as many children as I do, you are closer to some than others… I definitely see them and we do this and that.
“I’m a lot closer to the Jenner side, but Kris, I don’t really keep in touch with her anymore. It’s a little sad because we’ve been through a lot.”
The new documentary series will feature unseen archival footage and first-hand testimony from the family’s inner circle.
As one of the most famous families in the world, the program, produced by 72 Films, explores their family dynamics, scandals, controversial business deals and personal struggles.
Caitlyn’s presence in the family has been causing friction for a while now – with a memorable Keeping Up With The Kardashians scene seeing Kendall rowing with Kris for not inviting her to the family’s Christmas Eve party.

The former Olympic athlete was also said to be ‘shocked’ last year when she did not receive an invitation to Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s third wedding in Italy.
The drama first arose in 2017, when the newly transformed Caitlyn came out with her memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, which contained a warts-and-all portrayal of Kris and their marriage.
“I tell Kris about my gender issues before I have sex with her,” Caitlyn insisted in the book, some of which Kris has publicly denied.
“This will always be a topic of discussion between Kris and I about the extent to which she might intuitively think about my gender issues. She insists she was surprised by my eventual transition to Caitlyn,” the author continued.
“I told her I had dressed like a woman, and she knew I did because I did it in front of her several times after we got married.”
The Kardashian sisters immediately closed ranks around their mother, while Caitlyn’s The relationship with Khloe deteriorated a vindictive feud lasting many years.
Speaking about the series, Caitlyn said: “I was happy to participate in the interview process to share my side, which speaks to the power, influence and ability my family has in captivating and holding the world’s attention over the years to.
‘I am very proud of all my children and stepchildren.’
When she tied the knot with Kris in 1991, Caitlyn became the stepfather to her children whom she welcomed with the late attorney Robert Kardashian: Kourtney, 44, Kim, 42, Khloe and also Rob, 36. He notably passed away in 2003 after a fight against esophageal cancer.

During Caitlyn and Kris’ marriage, they also welcomed daughters Kendall and Kylie. However, the former couple finalized their divorce in 2015, the same year Jenner came out as transgender.
Tensions also arose after Caitlyn was banned from the family’s new Hulu show, The Kardashians.
Caitlyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner confirmed to Variety that she was not included in the series, which saw the Kardashian-Jenner women share a massive nine-figure salary.
“I was there when this started from day one. I saw it grow. And being on the show for almost 20 seasons was one of the highlights of my life,” Caitlyn began in a tweet.
She continued, “It was incredible to be able to work with my family and connect with the fans all these years.
“Glad it’s happening for my family,” concluded the star, who wrote her tweet in response to a tweet from Variety promoting Kardashian’s recent interview.
Caitlyn was a regular on Keeping Up With The Kardashians from the very first season, which premiered on E! in October 2007, until 2015.
The reality show was the brainchild of Kris and TV host and producer Ryan Seacrest, and followed the lives of Kris’ family, including Caitlyn – and then Bruce – along with their children.
Viewers witnessed the end of her 22-year marriage to Kris, as well as her courageous decision to come out as transgender.
Caitlyn further documented her transition and new life as a single woman in the KUWTK spinoff series I Am Cait, which aired for two seasons on E!

After 14 years, the Kardashian-Jenner clan decided to pull the plug on their long-running reality series, announcing in 2020 that the 20th season would be their last.
In an interview with Australia’s The Morning Show, Caitlyn claimed she was not informed of the show’s ending by her family.
“I heard it on the news!” she said. ‘No one called me, I heard it through the media. Was I surprised? No.’
Keeping Up With The Kardashians officially concluded in June 2021, with the family taking part in a two-part reunion special. Caitlyn didn’t show up.
During the special, Kris spoke briefly about their failed marriage, admitting to Andy Cohen that she and Caitlyn had “a lot of great years” together.
When asked if Caitlyn’s transition played a role in their divorce, Kris shut down the idea and confessed that they probably would have split anyway.
