Caitlin Clark’s bitter rival Chennedy Carter says Angel Reese should be the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year over Indiana Fever star: ‘No other way to put it’

Her teammates at Chicago Sky believe Angel Reese should be taken more seriously in the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year race.

On Friday night, Reese scored a personal best 27 points and grabbed ten rebounds, earning her twelfth consecutive double-double.

With this, she equals the streak that Candace Parker previously achieved, which she achieved more than ten years ago, between the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Chennedy Carter, who led the team with 33 points in Chicago’s win over Seattle, told the ION broadcast after the game that Reese is the favorite to be recognized as the league’s best young player.

ā€œBarbieā€™s Rookie of the Year. Thereā€™s no other way to say it,ā€ Carter said.

“She goes out there, she does her job every night, no matter what team we’re facing. I’m telling you, Barbie’s Rookie of the Year, absolutely.”

Reese will face stiff competition for the honor, as Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is also vying for the prize.

On Saturday, Clark recorded the first triple-double by a rookie in WNBA history, scoring 19 points in a win over the New York Liberty.

It’s another milestone in her career amid her growing rivalry with Reese, which has kept audience numbers up all season.

Reese averages 13.9 points per game and leads the league with 11.7 rebounds per game.

Clark is among the league’s top scorers and assists, but has struggled with turnovers.

The two will play on the same team when their WNBA team takes on the American team during the WNBA All-Star Game on July 20.
