Caitlin Clark reveals her biggest fear after childhood incident left her ‘scarred’

WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has proven to be fearless when it comes to basketball, lighting up the court in her debut season with the Indiana Fever.

But beyond the paint, it seems there are some things that are messing her up, with Clark opening up this week about her biggest fears in life.

Speaking at the Annika golf tournament ahead of her Pro-Am debut on Wednesday, she revealed a surprising fear: cats.

Instead of the dark, the snakes or the heights, the former college star from Iowa revealed that it’s actually the common pet that scares her the most.

“I really don’t like cats,” she said, as the room erupted with laughter.

When asked if it’s because she has allergies, Clark replied: ‘No, there was a black cat on my street when I was growing up and it was so mean. I have scars…so I’m really afraid of cats.

‘Sorry if any of you have a cat. I love dogs very much!’

Playing in The Annika Pro-Am on Wednesday, Clark quickly went viral after her tee shot on the third nearly hit a spectator in the head.

The WNBA star apologized profusely, but no harm was done as spectators ran after the ball in an attempt to pick up a souvenir from one of the world’s biggest sports stars.

On a later hole, Clark hit a spectator along one of the fairways, with video showing her signing the ball for her moments later.

The performance led to fans joking that she is “human after all,” following a season in which she dominated the WNBA en route to being named Rookie of the Year.

Clark was the main reason behind a huge spike in viewership and attendance after being drafted to No. 1 overall by the Fever.

She now has a few months off before her second season kicks off, but there has been talk of her joining a new, money-hungry winter league.

Whether she does or not, there will certainly be more rounds of golf on her calendar.
