Caitlin Clark outscores Angel Reese 31 to 11 and adds 12 assists as Fever drop Sky in rivals’ final matchup before WNBA Rookie of the Year voting

Caitlin Clark may have ended the WNBA Rookie of the Year race for good after her performance on Friday night.

Clark had 31 points and a dozen assists in the Indiana Fever’s 100-81 win over the Chicago Sky.

Angel Reese paled in comparison, finishing the loss with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Clark’s astonishing performance came about after she sat out the final four minutes of the game.

She did not play again after taking the free throw related to the bad foul Diamond Deshields had committed on her. Clark ended up on the ground with a hip thrust.

As Clark left the field, she called on the crowd to make noise. Both announcers said they had seen her jerseys many times in Chicago.

“Is this enemy territory? I saw a lot of Caitlin Clark shirts in downtown Chicago today,” said a commentator for the Ion Network.

Reese completed her 23rd double-double of the season, passing Tina Charles for the most doubles by a rookie in WNBA history.

The win moves the Fever to 16-16, marking the first time since 2022 that the team has been .500 or better.

Indiana also now holds a five-game lead over the Atlanta Dream for the final playoff spot in the WNBA with eight games remaining in the regular season.
