Caitlin Clark Olympics rejection made official in Aubrey Plaza announcement video – as angry Team USA fans respond SLAMMING the decision!

Caitlin Clark has been officially left out of Team USA’s roster for the Paris Olympics next month – and angry American fans wasted no time in making their feelings clear.

Team USA announced its basketball roster on Tuesday, with White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza naming the team in a video. But all the attention from fans in the multiple Team USA posts on Tuesday was about the one player not named to the 12-person roster.

‘I don’t watch these games now. No wish now that you’re not bringing @CaitlinClark22,” said one response.

‘That is it. After thirty years of being a die-hard American women’s basketball fan, I now have to cheer for Japan. No integrity without Clark on this team,” another fan said in the comments.

‘The best player in the world left us because of jealousy and racism. Sad.’

Another fan said: ‘It’s flogging a dead horse at this point. But yeah. Caitlin should be on this team.

“Team USA basketball needs to at least face the music here. And the people involved in team selections must be available to the media for questions.”

Another response read: “You missed the greatest opportunity in the history of women’s basketball.

‘There has never been a public phenomenon like CC. Never has a girls basketball player been a national topic during the NBA playoffs. You decide to miss this unique opportunity. Congratulations.’

Oddly enough, Plaza seemed to reference the hype Clark has brought to women’s basketball in her video about the team.

“I’m not sure if you’ve heard yet, but women’s basketball is having a moment,” she says at the beginning of the clip. ‘And it’s not over yet.

“This summer it’s all about the USA women’s basketball team. In Paris they will win gold for the eighth time in a row.’

Clark broke her silence on the rejection on Sunday, speaking to reporters after the Indiana Fever practice.

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” Clark said Sunday.

“I know this is the most competitive team in the world and I know it could have gone either way whether I was on the team or not.

“I’m excited for them, I’m going to cheer them on to win gold. I was a kid who grew up watching the Olympics, it will be fun to watch it.

‘Honestly not a disappointment. I guess it just gives you something to work for. It’s a dream, hopefully one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation. Remember that and hopefully I can be there in four years.”

Clark also revealed that she already knew she wasn’t chosen before the news broke.

“They called me and let me know before everything came out, which was very respectful of them and I appreciated that,” Clark continued.

“They did the same thing for every girl who was on the team, or every girl who wasn’t on the team. There are a lot of players in the Olympic pool, so it wasn’t like I was the only one they had to call. They had to make quite a few phone calls.’
