Caitlin Clark fans convinced the Indiana Fever forward is hiding a ‘big announcement’

Caitlin Clark fans are confident the Indiana Fever star is keeping mum about a big surprise after she was questioned about her visit to Yankees Stadium.

Speaking to reporters during a practice in Indiana on Wednesday, Clark was asked at one point, “How did you end up in New York … and what else have you done?”

The point guard replied with a grin: “I was honestly just in New York for something I had to do… and I’d never been to a Yankees game, so I figured why not?”

Fans took to social media to try to come up with another reason why Clark would go to New York other than just to attend a baseball game, as she claimed.

“Okay, the dimple gave it away,” shared one fan who posted the clip to X. “What are you hiding, Miss Clark?”

Someone suggested that the 22-year-old point guard was “just on a family vacation with her boyfriend and that’s why she doesn’t want to talk about her private life.”

“I hope I’m wrong and something good comes of it! Nike’s main campus is in Portland so I don’t think now is the time,” the same user added, referring to Clark’s shoe deal with Nike.

“Whatever it was, she’s clearly very excited about it!” wrote another fan.

“Did CC get married in NYC?” someone asked, to which someone responded, “I have no idea how or who spread these rumors but I honestly doubt CC would get married without her family present lmao.”

With so many questions swirling around Clark ahead of the Fever’s game against Phoenix Mercury on Friday, one fan joked, “Court proceedings are open.”

“Businessman, business… that woman is busy,” someone else claimed of Clark’s visit to the Big Apple.

Earlier this week, Clark broke her silence on the prospect of joining rival Angel Reese in a new 3×3 women’s basketball league backed by Megan Rapinoe, Carmelo Anthony and Steve Nash.

The Fever (11-15) are seventh in the WNBA standings and third in the Eastern Conference.
