Caitlin Clark breaks her silence on being Angel Reese’s teammate after rookie rivals were both named on WNBA’s All-Star team

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark revealed her feelings about teaming up with Angel Reese for this summer’s WNBA All-Star game.

Clark and Reese are part of ‘Team WNBA’ and are preparing for the US Olympic Games on July 20.

“I know people are going to be really excited about it, but I hope it doesn’t get in the way of everything else,” Clark told reporters of her and Reese’s All-Star nominations.

“This is a huge accomplishment for everyone on Team USA and everyone on Team WNBA. They all deserve the same praise.

“I don’t want it to detract from everything else and just become the focal point of All-Star weekend, because that’s not fair to them.”

Clark was named to Team WNBA but did not commit to the 3-point contest that weekend

Although Clark has been selected to the All-Star team, it is not yet clear exactly how many All-Star Weekend festivities she will participate in.

“That remains to be seen, we’ll see,” Clark said when asked if she would consider entering the 3-point competition. “I haven’t decided yet. … I can’t give you all the answers today.”

In addition to the All-Star Game and the 3-point competition, there will also be a skills competition.

Clark was the top vote-getter, as chosen by the fans, with more than 700,000 votes to her name. Her Indiana teammate Aliyah Boston came in second with more than 618,000 votes.

The top five was completed by A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart, who play for Team USA, as well as Reese.
