Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will team up at the WNBA All-Star Game. The Indiana Fever rookie has backed her rival to dominate in a key category.
Reese, also in his first year with the Chicago Sky, leads the league in rebounds per game and Clark expects that trend to continue when the WNBA All-Stars take on Team USA this weekend.
“It’s going to be really fun, she’s probably going to lead the game in rebounds,” Clark said said on the WNBA orange carpet on Thursday. ‘That’s what I expect from her. That’s just what she does.’
Reese is pulling down 12 rebounds per game and has 13.5 points. He has set a league record with a streak of 15 consecutive double-doubles.
Clark, meanwhile, already holds the Fever’s single-season assist record and has transitioned almost seamlessly to the W, posting 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game.

The pair are seen as the main challengers for the league’s Rookie of the Year award
Clark and Reese, who competed for Iowa and LSU respectively in college, are the first two WNBA rookies to become All-Stars since 2015.
“I think it’s cool, it’s obviously rare to have two rookies in the All-Star Game … the fans are obviously super excited about it,” Clark said. “I just think it’s really good for the W, and she’s obviously having an incredible year.
Clark and Reese have been linked since their college days. Reese sparked national controversy and debate when she challenged Clark toward the end of the 2023 national championship game.
And in the pros, Reese cheered when her teammate Chennedy Carter brutally bodychecked Clark during a race.

The Fever and Sky have played each other three times this season, with Clark’s team winning twice
She has also repeatedly reminded reporters that the WNBA has several high-profile rookies playing this season and claimed that Clark would benefit from a “special whistle” from officials.
Still, it seems like Reese will enjoy playing with Clark this weekend — at least, based on recently resurfaced comments from last year.
“Oh my god, I love Caitlin,” Reese told reporters in the fall of 2023, as she entered her final season at LSU.
“We’ve been playing games since we were in AAU. Back in AAU, we were always competing. I remember when she was in All Iowa Attack and we were playing against each other in AAU. It was always fun and always competitive.
“I hope that one day she and I can be teammates because she’s a great player, a great shooter, a great person and a great teammate,” Reese added.
The two players are also considered favorites for the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year Award, with Shaquille O’Neal recently giving his opinion on his “certain” favorite.
However, on Saturday they will experience a rare moment on the same side.
