Caitlin Clark admits she wasn’t aware of Ice Cube’s $5 million pitch to join the Big3 League until she heard about it “at the exact same time you all did.”
Ice Cube, who co-founded Big3 with entertainment chief Jeff Kwatinetz, earlier this week confirmed the “historic” offer on the table for the college basketball sensation to join his three-on-three league this year.
However, the hip-hop legend will have to wait a while to find out if Clark is interested.
Ahead of Iowa’s Sweet 16 showdown with Colorado during March Madness, the 22-year-old emphasized that her focus at the moment is solely on the tournament as she takes up Big3’s offer for the first time.
After revealing that she only learned about the possibility at the same time as the public, Clark continued, “I honestly don’t talk to anyone about those things. I have other people dealing with it. They haven’t said a word about it to me yet.
Caitlin Clark Admits She Wasn’t Aware of Ice Cube’s $5 Million Pitch for Joining Big3
Ice Cube took to social media this week to confirm reports of Big3’s “historic” bid for Clark
But the Iowa sensation insists her focus is purely on March Madness
“And my main focus is on this team and helping us find a way to beat Colorado and then hopefully win another one.”
Clark has been granted seven figures to play up to ten games in Big3, including eight regular season games and two possible playoff games.
She would also receive “substantial additional compensation” from any sponsorship or merchandise deals, while league heads would allow her to play in the WNBA amid her plan to enter this draft year.
Just two regular season games in the WNBA would conflict with the Big3 schedule, giving her the chance to pocket $5 million without sacrificing her professional ambitions.
By comparison, the WNBA’s highest earner last season was Erica Wheeler, who collected $242,000. Although she is expected to take home a little more herself next season, Clark can earn almost twenty times as much by signing up for Big3.

‘BIG3 has made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”
The NWA icon then appeared on the Pat McAfee show earlier this week, where he elaborated on Big3’s goal to recruit the all-time leading NCAA scorer.

“This is a special situation, a special player that has influence in many different areas, you know, ratings, attendance and ticket sales,” he said.
‘Of course our sponsors are very interested in such a player. This is our first look at planning to move aggressively on this because we know it would move the league and that’s where we want to go.”
Despite the riches on offer, former NBA star Reggie Theus Clark has been advised to reject Big3’s advances and keep her sights set on playing in the WNBA.
“There’s nothing like playing in the Big3,” Theus said TMZ Sports. ‘The Big3 would be a huge challenge.
“Obviously growing up she wanted to play in the WNBA, so that’s a dream of hers. It’s a difficult choice.’
