Byron Baes star Nathan Favro pleads guilty to traffic offenses at Southport Magistrates Court after performing an illegal U-turn on a suspended driver’s license

Byron Baes star Nathan Favro appeared before Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a series of traffic offences.

The reality star, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of driving without a license after he was caught making an illegal U-turn at an intersection while holding a suspended driver’s license.

He was pulled over on October 9 making a turn at the intersection of Gold Coast Highway and Fourth Ave in Palm Beach and has since been fined without conviction.

Police officers conducted further checks after the Bachelorette star said he did not have his driver’s license with him and discovered he was under two demerit points at the time of the offence.

One of the suspensions ran until February next year.

Favro’s attorney told the judge that his client was unaware of the suspension because he failed to provide his correct address to the Department of Main Roads.

She went on to say that Favro is now forced to spend hundreds of dollars a week on Ubers to travel for work and had he known about the suspension, he would have applied for a work permit.

“After facing court for the first time and the long disqualification period he faces, he is now well aware that being licensed is a privilege,” she said.

No conviction was recorded and the judge fined Favro $100 and suspended his driver’s license for six months.

When reporters asked him out of court if he thought it was a good decision to drive with a suspended license, Favro said he had to “get to work.”
