At this point I think we can safely assume that no one is going to spend their hard-earned money on tickets to see the Border areas movie. The reviews from fans and critics alike have been nothing short of scathing, and honestly I think we all deserved better. Borderlands is a looter-shooter franchise with a surprising amount of lore that is carried by a certain kind of humor that gets lost in the translation to the big screen. If you want to experience what is still the best version of Borderlands, you can currently check out the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box via Steam for only $37.12.
Pandora’s Box is a comprehensive collection of the four main titles in the Borderlands franchise, plus all associated DLC including cosmetic items and other extras, worth a combined $664.47. In addition to the FPS items associated with the Borderlands license, Pandora’s Box also includes Stories from the border areas from Telltale Games, which has grown exponentially better writing and character development than what we got from the movie.
Regardless of how you feel about the Border areas The four main titles have distilled the looter-shooter formula into a highly focused and incredibly engaging (playable via Steam Deck) experience that’s fun whether you’re playing solo or with friends.
