A woman believed to have been stabbed to death by her partner before he committed suicide and then murdered her was a student from China.

The 21-year-old woman was found dead at 8.50am on Monday at an apartment complex on Conder Street, in Sydney’s west.

Her partner allegedly stabbed the woman and then jumped off a balcony to his death. Officers found his body in the courtyard of the building.

The couple lived in Australia on a student visa, Daily Telegraph reported.

According to Burwood Police Chief Christine McDonald, officers seized the suspected murder weapon from the unit.

“It is too early to say whether this is domestic violence, but violence against any person is not tolerated and will not be tolerated,” she said.

More coming soon.
