A Tennessee mansion went up for sale for $1.5 million after it caught fire, but the owners are reminding new buyers they can build their dream home on the prized site.

The Franklin mansion caught fire in September after a construction worker called 911 to report an explosion. The fire spread rapidly, causing the roof of the beautiful home to collapse before firefighters could put it out.

The five-acre, two-home property is being “sold as is,” and despite the steep price tag, is only slightly higher than the $1.1 million Williamson County average.

‘Save tens of thousands of dollars [and] build your dream home without Williamson County impact fees!’ the listing said.

Real estate agent Paula Duvall called this a “rare opportunity” to own the Winslow Road house, which was not completely destroyed by the fire, as well as the guest house intact.

The roof collapsed before firefighters could put out the fire. The fire started after a construction worker reported an explosion.

The lobby was completely destroyed after the roof collapsed, piles of debris were left on the floor, insulation was sticking out of the walls, and a chandelier burned out.

One of the showers in the house was a shell of what it used to be after being covered in soot.

The side of the house has burned to the ground, but the structure on a small portion of the roof is still standing.

The main bathroom was burned to ashes and the fire stripped it bare, leaving soot and broken wood.

The main staircase suffered extensive damage, as did the walls from falling debris.

Photos of the house show the fire taking place on the right hand side of the second story with a fire truck desperately trying to put out the flames. When the fire was put out, the entire room was gone, but the lower part of the house still stands.

The entire lobby area is now covered in rubble, the chandelier burned out and the insulation in the walls had started to show. The 4.5 car garage was also derelict but still stands.

The entrance to the master bedroom was completely destroyed, leaving behind burned-out walls and half-standing doors. The corridor was in a similar way.

All was not lost, the guest house (in the photo) was not affected by the fire

The beautiful kitchen had a large island and plenty of room to entertain before the fire.
