Wild Bunnings event starring Peking Duk gets green light

People wanted to party and now Bunnings has answered the call.

The iconic shopping destination is hosting the country’s first-ever ‘Bunnings rave’ at one of its massive warehouses in August, following a sudden and viral TikTok campaign calling for a techno extravaganza at one of its locations.

Australian electronic music duo Peking Duk’s TikTok channel took the lead, remixing the famous jingle from Bunnings’ TV commercial into a rave track and dancing along to it wildly.

In a new video on the channel, Peking Duk confirmed that the rave took place.

“The people have spoken and Bunnings has listened. We’re doing this. You made this happen. Oh my God, we’re going to have a rave with Bunnings,” said Reuben Styles, part of Peking Duk alongside Adam Hyde.

‘We still don’t know where. So pick a place, pick a state, pick a Bunnings, where do you want to have this party?

“Where are we gonna do this? Let’s party, let’s rave.”

A Bunnings spokeswoman confirmed the rave would take place sometime in August.

It will be the hardware store’s first musical event of this kind and was first proposed by Peking Duk in an earlier TikTok

“We loved seeing how excited Australian music lovers across the country were about a Bunnings rave,” the spokeswoman said.

‘It is with great excitement that we can confirm that together with Peking Duk, What So Not and Kaila we have found a way to give the people what they want: the Bunnings Warehouse Party will take place at the end of August.

‘More details coming soon. Watch this space.’

The wild TikTok campaign started with 19-year-old music producer Kaila, who posted a video with the caption “petition to throw a big rave at Bunnings Warehouse” and a remix of a Bunnings dance track.

Peking Duk then followed with their own remix.

The pair are excited in a Bunnings store, in the aisles and on the escalator.

“We not only match it, we exceed it by five percent,” they say.
