Police are looking for two men involved in a robbery at a branch of hardware giant Bunnings.

On February 25, several instant hot water systems were stolen from the Bunnings warehouse on Dalton Road in Thomastown, Melbourne’s north.

Investigators believe the pair drove into the store with a stolen Ford Falcon sedan shortly before 5 p.m.

The two men loaded the three instant hot water systems into the car before trying to drive away, police say.

Quick-thinking staff tried to block their escape by lowering the roller doors, but the thieves accelerated and burst through the exit, narrowly missing shoppers.

It is believed the vehicle had been stolen from a property in St Albans earlier that day.

Victoria Police have released an image of a man they say could help investigators.
