Students at Bundaberg North State High School filmed fights in restrooms after the school closed
A female pupil being beaten in a bathroom is just the latest bullying incident at a troubled Central Queensland school, parents claim.
Concerned mothers claim vulnerable students at Bundaberg North State High School live in fear of bullies who “rule the school” by threatening classmates in an attempt to gain “street cred.”
The disturbing trend resulted in an all-out brawl on Tuesday that locked down the school with about 750 students.
Footage from the riot showed students beating and stacking each other, an event one parent described as “normal” for the school.
Now, another video has surfaced of two girls fighting violently in the school toilets. The courier mail reported.

The confrontational clip shows a girl in a gray hoodie approaching another student from behind and hitting her head.
At least four other students fled the bathroom as the two got into a full-blown brawl.
Just as things seemed to calm down, the girl behind the camera urged the student in the hoodie to “keep going,” with the pair repeatedly throwing fists at each other.
A mother at the school said her daughter had been “beaten up” four times in the past 18 months.
In the most recent attack, in August, the young girl was hospitalized.

“It’s getting out of hand, someone is going to get seriously hurt,” another parent told the publication, adding that her child had to change schools.
“There is a huge culture problem. It’s crazy. Girls fight in bathrooms, not just the boys.”
She also alleged that some students brought guns to school, and that the bullying also took place online outside of school hours.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Education said they were aware of the videos depicting “student behavior incidents” and said students involved in the toilet attack faced “appropriate disciplinary action.”
The spokesman added that it takes the problems at the school “extremely seriously” and said the altercation in the bathroom happened several weeks ago.
‘All these kinds of incidents are investigated, tackled and supported by students. The school takes student safety very seriously and is working to provide a safe, supportive learning environment for all students,” said the spokesperson.
“It is mandatory that the Student Code of Conduct includes guidelines on how to report bullying and what to expect after reporting it, including timelines for a response.”

All parents, students and carers are urged to report instances of bullying and misconduct to the school principal.
To help struggling students, all students have been given access to anonymous reporting platforms, guidance officers, youth services, psychologists and community education advisors.
