Scoring 146 points in the win also gave the Bucks their highest point total of the season to date.
Milwaukee now advances to the semifinals and will play the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas in the next leg of the tournament.
The game was a hard-fought battle during the first half, before the Bucks pulled away in the third quarter and never looked back.
Milwaukee's success from the three-point line proved to be the deciding factor: the Bucks shot 60.5 percent from beyond the arc, while New York shot a miserable 30.4 percent from deep.
