Buckley: ‘Disturbing’ find of woman’s body in a bin along isolated stretch of road near Geelong
A woman’s body is discovered in a garbage bin on a remote stretch of road as homicide detectives arrive on the scene.
The gruesome discovery was made around midday on Saturday on Mt Pollock Rd at Buckley, near Geelong south-west of Melbourne.
Police are treating the discovery as suspicious and have established a crime scene in the area south of the Princes Highway.
The area is closed to traffic, with scattered residential blocks and farmland lining the road where the woman’s body was found.
Detectives from the homicide unit are on their way from Melbourne to the crime scene Herald Sun.

A local resident, Eric Lewis, who owns land near the accident site, told the publication he was “stunned” by the gruesome discovery.
He said he arrived at the scene after hearing something on the bush telegraph, but the police wouldn’t tell him anything.
“What’s happening here in Buckley, I just can’t believe it,” he said.
Another resident said the discovery was ‘disturbing’ and would be shocking to the close-knit local community.
