Moment Buckingham Palace guard slips and lands on his backside while on duty – before he returned to his post as if nothing happened
A Buckingham Palace security guard was caught slipping and falling on his bottom while working, only to quickly get back up and act as if nothing had happened.
The funny moment was accidentally captured on camera by tourist Anthony Smith from Liverpool, who was visiting the famous landmark in London’s City of Westminster.
The guards at Buckingham Palace have a reputation for being professional and sometimes a little stern.
However, the guards also occasionally show a humorous side, playing popular songs to celebrate special occasions, such as the 2024 European Championship, and pulling funny faces at tourists.
The man who captured the blunder on camera was visiting Buckingham Palace as part of a weekend away in London.

The guard unexpectedly fell to the ground while marching outside the palace
Last Sunday he happened to be filming a visit to the palace when the unexpected scene occurred.
The video shows the guard mid-march and then the moment he slips on his foot and lands on his butt on the ground.
Anthony, 45, a X-ray technician, accidentally captured the incident on camera when he was ‘randomly’ filming the palace entrance.
“I was just randomly filming and he just slid right over it,” Anthony explained.
‘I had to watch the video again to believe it.
‘People who saw it were shocked. Everyone was asking, ‘Did that just happen?’
He then continued: ‘The guard quickly jumped up and recovered, immediately returning to action.’
The guards are usually well-trained soldiers who are also skilled in martial arts.
After he fell, the guard quickly got back up and acted as if nothing had happened.

Candidates must also pass a special test to serve as a royal guard.
As the Guards are part of a military organisation, all candidates must pass the BARB, the British Army Recruit Battery test.
They typically receive around £25,000 a year as a member of the Guard, a figure that rises to around £35,000 once they are promoted to corporal, according to a report by LadBible (via TikTok account @howmuchalthough).
The Royal Guards also receive additional benefits, such as subsidized meals, free health care, dental care and cheap accommodation.
