Bryony Page WINS Olympic gold in women’s trampolining after stunning performance – as Team GB take home their 24th medal of the games

Britain’s Bryony Page completed her Olympic medal haul with gold on the women’s trampoline.
The 33-year-old won a surprise silver in Rio eight years ago and then bronze in Tokyo, but entered this competition as reigning world champion and favourite for the gold medal.
Page was the penultimate gymnast to compete in the final at the Bercy Arena and she cried and jumped for joy when her score of 56.480 was confirmed.
Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya of Belarus became the first neutral athlete to win a medal at the Games, taking silver, while Sophiane Methot of Canada won bronze.
Page, who also won the world title in 2021, qualified for the final with the fifth highest score, but saw her competitors before her largely fail to surpass their qualifying scores.

After the result was confirmed, Page cried and jumped for joy as she completed her medal set
The Sheffield athlete meanwhile increased her score by almost a full point, from 55.620, only to see her last competitor, China’s Hu Yicheng, fall during her routine.
With that, Page managed to win the last gold medal for Great Britain, much to the delight of the hordes of flag-waving fans in the arena.
