Bryan Cranston looks stylish in olive green while promoting his film Argylle in NYC… after saying he is not ‘hitting the pause button’ on his career

Bryan Cranston was on his way to Good Morning America in New York City on Monday to promote his new film.

The actor, 67, who was spotted on a recent football outing with his daughter Taylor, will star in the spy thriller Argylle, as the head of a global crime syndicate with Bryce Dallas Howard, 42, and Henry Cavill,40.

The Emmy winner looked dashing in a brown turtleneck and jacket with sage green pants.

The veteran star swept his salt-and-pepper hair out of his face and sported a handlebar mustache and soul patch.

He and co-star Sam Rockwell, 55, skirted around the edges of the plot as they tried to discuss the final project, which has “about a dozen legitimate twists.”

During a stop on the fourth hour of Today with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hagar, the Malcolm in the Middle star had a chance to clarify what he meant when he said he would be taking a break from acting.

The furor over a possible retirement arose after an interview published in June 2023 by British GQ which reported, “in 2026, one of the greatest actors of this era will retire – at least temporarily.”

The word “temporary” was apparently left out of many headlines, causing some frustration for the still-busy actor.

“Wait a minute, so you believe everything you read online? Is that what’s happening?’ he asked when Hoda and Jenna asked about his plans.

“I said to this interviewer, ‘I feel like I’ve been so busy for the last 25 years and I feel like I need a reset,'” and added, “I need more life experience, to just – so I want to hit the pause button.’

Bryan said, “I still have a few things on my plate that I want to finish before I move on, but I do want to change the dynamic.”

“I’ve been married to the best person in the world for 35 years,” he said of his wife, actress Robin Dearden, 70.

“She has been the ‘plus one’ in this industry, and I want to change that. I want to take that out of that kind of imbalance and leave with her and just… she’s looking forward to having me back and not having to follow me around anymore.”

On Today, Bryan made it clear that he isn’t “hitting the pause button” on his career YET, but plans to spend more time with his wife Robin Dearden, temporarily, when he turns 70. “She’s looking forward to having me back and not having to follow me anymore,” he said (pictured with wife Robin in Cannes in May 2023)

Things on Bryan’s plate include the drama series Everything’s Going to Be Great, starring Oscar winner Allison Janney and Tony winner Laura Benanti. The film is stated to be in post-production IMDB.

The Oscar nominee will also star in the crime film Jackpot with Jennifer Garner and Mila Kunis.

The project is based on the 2011 Norwegian film of the same name.
