A ferocious internal exchange between Rabbitohs stars Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray during a recent video session has highlighted why Souths are a club in crisis.
The pair didn’t hold back when the superstar fullback called out the skipper for not passing the ball to him, reportedly saying, “When I call for it, give it to me.”
Murray’s response was the definition of blunt as he fired back with, “Most of the time you’re not there,” according to the The Sydney Morning Herald.

After being called out by Latrell Mitchell for not passing the ball to him, captain Cameron Murray fired back in front of the squad during a video session.
Mitchell was forced to sit out much of the season after hurting his calf muscle during his camp with the NSW State of Origin team in June, continuing a pattern that saw him miss significant amounts of time with an injury with the Bunnies.
The revelation about the duel between the two comes after club great Sam Burgess was relieved of his duties as assistant coach on Wednesday.
Burgess – a club legend and 2014 premiership winner who has a close relationship with co-owner Russell Crowe – has reportedly clashed with head coach Jason Demetriou in recent weeks.
Burgess will also head to Warrington in the Super League next year as head coach.
Both Burgess and fellow assistant coach John Morris are reported to have expressed concern over Demetriou’s preferential treatment of Mitchell and pivot Cody Walker.
In the eyes of many pundits South Sydney are favorites in the Premier League, but an implosion at the end of the season means South Sydney must beat bitter rivals the Sydney Roosters next week to guarantee they make the NRL top eight and play finals .

Mitchell was not doing himself a favor after he was spotted drinking beer on stage with country singer Luke Coombs last week, then bad-mouthed the Knights in the must-win game at McDonald Jones Stadium.
