Bruno Guimaraes thrives against Brentford, Bernardo Silva delivers once again and THREE Crystal Palace stars make the list… but who tops Mail Sport’s POWER RANKINGS after the Premier League’s final day?

The Premier League season is over and all twenty teams have settled on their places in the table, pleasing or disappointing their supporters respectively.

Manchester City lifted the trophy after going two points clear of Arsenal, with both sides winning on the final day of the season.

Luton Town became the third and final Premier League team to play in the Championship next season after the 4-2 defeat to Fulham, while Nottingham Forest secured their survival with an away win at Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

All twenty clubs played at the same time and scored a whopping 37 goals, with Crystal Palace arguably the star team after scoring five against Aston Villa.

After an action-packed Sunday, our rankings saw significant changes after the final day of the campaign.

Man City won four titles in a row, becoming the first team in English top flight history to do so

TOP 10 RANKINGS OF THE LAST WEEK

10. Jhon Duran 5. Josko Gvardiol

9. Alexander Isak 4. Declan Rice

8. Harvey Elliott 3. Bukayo Saka

7. Moussa Diaby 2. Erling Haaland

6. Bernardo Silva 1. Michael Olise

10. Bukayo Saka (seven lower)

Bukayo Saka missed Arsenal’s final game of the Premier League season due to a muscle injury he suffered a week ago after a challenge from Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat.

The England winger remains on this list due to his top form prior to the injury. He scored against Bournemouth and Tottenham in an important match towards the Premier League title race.

Although his team, Arsenal, got a late winner against Everton with Kai Havertz’s goal in the 89th minute, fans were left dissatisfied as they only secured second place behind Man City.

Gabriel Martinelli took Saka’s place on the right, while Leandro Trossard came in on the left.

9. Erling Haaland (down seven)

Erling Haaland drops down the list as the Norwegian after failing to score in their title win.

The striker had a decent game against the Hammers. He often created chances for his team, but was unable to score from four shots.

He had six duels during the competition, of which he won three, in addition to one successful aerial duel.

Despite criticism for not reaching the level of last season, Haaland remained the Premier League’s top scorer with 27 goals, significantly outperforming Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak.

8. Alexander Isak (up one)

Newcastle’s star striker had an excellent season, finishing third in the Premier League scoring charts.

His goal and assist last Sunday helped his team secure a confident and much-needed victory against Brentford.

The Swedish striker was active in the opponent’s half, with seven ball contacts in the penalty area and one successful dribble.

Newcastle finished within the European places but now wait to see if Manchester United can knock them out by winning the FA Cup against newly crowned champions Man City.

7. Bruno Guimaraes (newcomer)

Magpies supporters will have enjoyed Bruno Guimaraes’ performance in their final game of the season.

Everyone is used to the 26-year-old Brazilian being the key player in midfield, but this time he also delivered in attack.

Although he still had an accurate success rate of 83 percent, he scored a goal and made two assists in a scintillating display.

Newcastle fans will be hoping this isn’t the last Premier League match they see Guimaraes in their colors with his future unclear as giants PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City are all reportedly interested in the player.

6. Michael Olise (down five)

The Frenchman who was on fire last month has dropped five places despite Crystal Palace’s thrashing of Aston Villa.

His team scored five goals against an unmotivated Aston Villa side, who had already secured their place in next season’s Champions League.

Michael Olise played the entire match, providing an assist and constantly creating danger for the opponent, with six shots.

The right winger has had a big impact on his team, delivering wins and positive results against Wolves and Manchester United.

However, he is sinking due to the performances of those in front of him this week.

5. Jean-Philippe Mateta (newcomer)

A fully deserved place in the Power Rankings.

Jean-Philippe Mateta converted Michael Olise’s assist into a goal and scored two more to complete a dominant hat-trick against Aston Villa.

The French striker is the leading man in Crystal Palace’s attack. He started 25 games in the Premier League, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists.

He has been a decisive factor in the Eagles’ recent results, scoring the winner against Wolves, the second goal against Man United and two crucial goals against Newcastle.

Mateta is a changed man since the arrival of Palace manager Oliver Glasner after struggling for goals beforehand.

4. Eberechi Eze (newcomer)

The third Crystal Palace footballer in this ranking. The Englishman ends the season in top form and puts his place on the line to be part of the England squad for the 2024 European Championship.

Eze has scored a number of crucial goals this year, including memorably against Liverpool in the match that handed the Reds their first league defeat at home since October 2022.

The attacking midfielder was another star performer against Aston Villa, finishing his two goals superbly and assisting Mateta’s second.

3. Declan Rice (up one)

Another quality game for the England star, despite Everton’s opener deflecting off his head.

Declan Rice was one of the signings of the season and played a big part in why they secured such a serious title claim against Manchester City.

As long as Rice is on the pitch, the Gunners appear calm and collected, and he had a 100% winning rate in aerial duels in the 2-1 win against Everton.

Arsenal missed out on the title, but with players like Rice in the team, they are expected to challenge again next season.

2. Bernardo Silva (four)

Bernardo Silva was the second-best player on the pitch as Manchester City won their fourth consecutive title – a record in English top-flight history.

In their 3-1 win over West Ham, Silva provided the assist for Phil Foden’s goal in the second minute, which immediately calmed nerves at the Etihad.

After West Ham raised their concerns by pulling one back to make it 2-1, Silva assisted Rodri to seal the title.

With an impressive success rate of 93 percent, Silva still enjoys the trust of Pep Guardiola, who often plays him in a different position during one match.

1. Phil Foden (newcomer)

The brand new Premier League player of the season is at the top of the Power Rankings this week after a stunning performance against West Ham.

Phil Foden has had a brilliant season for Manchester City, finishing fourth in the Premier League scoring charts with an impressive 19 goals.

The Englishman is highly rated by his coach, Pep Guardiola, and Foden is said to have reassured the Spaniard with two early goals against West Ham.

“Phil has a sixth gear, but he can’t play in that sixth gear all the time,” the Spanish coach said earlier.

Foden was clearly in sixth gear against West Ham on Sunday.
