Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer shares rare update on dementia-stricken star’s health
Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis, gave an update on Thursday about her father’s ongoing battle with a rare and aggressive form of dementia.
The 36-year-old actress spoke to fans during a Instagram Questions and Answerswhere she expressed her concerns about the Hollywood icon’s health.
“He’s amazing,” she captioned a sweet photo of herself holding the Pulp Fiction star’s hand. “I love him so much. Thank you.”
In February 2023, Bruce’s family announced that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), shortly after the 69-year-old retired from acting due to his struggles with a brain disorder known as aphasia.
In the Instagram Q&A, Rumer also confirmed her recent split from Derek Richard Thomas, the father of her only child.

The split came just 16 months after the birth of their daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, in April 2023.
When a fan asked if she and Derek were still together, Rumer responded, “No, I’m a single mom and co-parent.”
“I’m so grateful for Lou,” she continued. “She’s the best thing in my life and I’m forever grateful that I had the time in that relationship for her to come into my life.”
It’s unclear exactly when Rumer and Derek started dating, but they went public with their relationship in November 2022.
After announcing the news, she said that as a single mother, she is “definitely” still open to having more children, as she wants her little one to have siblings.
“Siblings are one of the best things in my entire life,” she noted. “I want that for Lou. So I’m open to whatever that may be in the future.”
When asked how many children she wants, Rumer replied, “6 or 7.”
In March, Rumer took to social media to say she “absolutely” wanted more children and that she wanted to be “pregnant now.”

Thursday’s revealing Instagram Q&A comes after haters online called her and her sisters Tallulah and Scout “unattractive” and “clones” of their famous father.
Scout Willis, 33, recently released her single Over and Over and shared a viral Instagram video of herself dancing with her family, including sisters Rumer and Tallulah and their mother, Demi Moore.
Despite their parents’ divorce in 2000, Bruce and Demi have remained close. They share the care of Rumer, Scout (33) and Tallulah (30).
The video received heavy criticism on Instagram, with the sisters’ appearance coming under fire.
Tallulah responded in a now-deleted post, revealing that they have been dealing with such “cruel and mean” comments about their appearance their entire lives. She also shared screenshots of the negative comments.
