Bruce Highway closed after bus crash near Gympie: Three passengers rushed to hospital
Three people have been rushed to hospital after a bus crash that has closed part of the Bruce Highway north of Gympie.
Police said the Brisbane-bound Greyhound bus was carrying about 20 people and traveling at 100km/h when it struck a barrier early Monday morning.
A man in his 20s suffered injuries to his legs, a man in his 40s injured his arm and a woman in her 20s suffered chest pain. All three were taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.
Police said the Bruce Highway will remain closed for a short time while clean-up work continues.
“Road closures will be in place around 6am while emergency services clear the accident scene,” they said.
The police investigation into the accident continues.
