Brother of Saints star livid after wide receiver was barely used in first half of loss to the Chiefs
After Monday night’s 26-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, some New Orleans Saints fans are wondering why a key part of their offense wasn’t more heavily involved.
Wide receiver Chris Olave has had a great start to his third season in the NFL – totaling 275 yards and a touchdown on 22 catches.
But on Monday Night Football, the receiver managed just two catches for 10 yards in the Saints’ loss.
That included just a lone target in the first half: a four-yard completion on the game’s first drive.
His brother, Josh Olave, posted his anger on X (formerly Twitter) by simply saying, “1 target?”

Olave was targeted just four times and made two catches for 10 yards in the loss
Olave finished with just the fifth-most receiving yards on the team on a night when the offense really struggled to get going.
Quarterback Derek Carr completed just 18 of 28 passes for 165 yards, two touchdowns and an interception he threw on the opening drive.
Carr also left the game injured, with backup quarterback Jake Haener filling in.
Even the ground game stagnated, with star running back Alvin Kamara carrying the ball just 11 times for 26 yards.
Olave racked up over 1,000 receiving yards in his first two seasons in the league, but he’s currently on track to miss that mark again as he averages just 55 yards per game in 2024.
The 2-3 Saints will be hoping for more success for Olave next week when they take on division rival Tampa Bay at home.
