Brother of Mr Universe bodybuilder Calum von Moger, Edward, is found dead after boomerang incident

The brother of Mr Universe bodybuilder Calum von Moger has died after mysteriously disappearing – just months after going viral about a bizarre clash with an elderly couple.

Edward von Moger, 28, was filmed in August shouting about Covid vaccines to a couple through their car window on the side of a Victorian road.

The confrontational video showed a shirtless Von Moger banging a boomerang on the driver’s side window and side mirror of the couple before launching into an expletive rant about Covid-19 vaccines.

He was due to be sentenced on Thursday, with all charges dropped by prosecutors.

Magistrate John Bentley revealed that von Moger had tragically passed away over the weekend.

‘He is deceased. He was a nice guy…those charges have been dropped. There is interest from the press because his brother is quite famous,’ Mr Bentley said.

Daily Mail Australia revealed on Friday that a desperate search was underway to find von Moger after he disappeared from his home in Geelong, 75km southwest of Melbourne.

The 28-year-old was last seen on Laura Avenue, in Belmont, around 8 a.m. Thursday.

A day later, his vehicle was found abandoned 22 miles away on Ellimatta Road in Anglesea, a small coastal town on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.

His brother Calum made a desperate plea for help finding his brother in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“My little brother Eddie is missing,” he wrote.

“He was last seen three days ago on Thursday March 2 around 8am.

“If anyone has seen or heard ANYTHING about him or has any information on his whereabouts, please let me know and get in touch with Geelong Police Station.”

A friend of von Moger revealed on social media that he had left a suicide note.

“How sad…full of life only 28 years old,” the post read.

‘He was always a cheerful man. Eddie planned his marriage to Harisa and was looking forward to it, mental health issues should always be treated, there should never be a stigma attached to it.”

The viral video featured von Moger charging at the couple and yelling through their car window as they were parked on the side of a Victorian road.

He then began banging on the driver’s side window and wing mirror, pausing to look bizarrely at his reflection in the mirror.

“You broke my goddamn boomerang,” he yelled, splitting himself in half from the force of the window slam.

In the viral video featuring Von Moger, breaking his weapon led to him producing another boomerang and saw him become even more enraged.

Seconds later, he shattered the wing mirror, ripped the glass from its holder and slammed it against the window, yelling “you bastard, you bastard bastard.”

With two more punches of his fist and open hand, he shattered the window, to the shock of the couple inside, and began his anti-vaccine diatribe.

“F***ing idiots, you got the vaccine and it didn’t bother you. You both got the damn vaccine and it lost a life,” he seemed to shout.

“Leave me alone,” the man in the driver’s seat told him, as the assailant grabbed his shirt.

He then stormed off in a huff, disappearing behind nearby stationary cars.

Von Moger’s brother Calum, 31, is a three-time Mr Universe winner who played Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film Bigger.

Months earlier in May, Calum made headlines when he was seriously injured after ‘jumping’ from the second floor of his home in Geelong, Victoria.

Police were called after reports that a man had a mental illness, with Calum having to undergo surgery on his spine and having spent 11 days in Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital.

The incident made international headlines due to his fame as a bodybuilder and his film career – as well as playing Schwarzenegger, he also starred in Netflix’s Calum von Moger: Unbroken and the bodybuilding documentary Generation Iron 2.

The spinal cord injury was just the latest in a series of setbacks in Calum von Moger’s life.

Over the past five years, the gym junkie — once dubbed Arnold Schwarzenegger 2.0 — suffered a knee and bicep injury that put him out of work for a year, discovered he was the father of a little boy named Kairos, and his California home burned down.

Shortly after being released from the hospital, he pleaded guilty to possession of several drugs, including testosterone, cannabis, and about two grams of methamphetamine, the deadly drug ice cream.

Those who follow Calum online say he hasn’t been the same since his bull terrier, Rex, choked to death on a chip in 2021.

Calum moved back to Australia from Los Angeles in October 2021.
