Brother and sister, aged 17 and 14, are orphaned after their mom, dad, and baby brothers are killed in a horrific crash with a semi-truck on a Oklahoma highway

A brother and sister are orphaned after their mother, father and two little brothers died in a truck crash on an Oklahoma highway.

Aldo Fernandez, 36, his wife Marissa Sanchez, 35, and their two young sons Sebastian, four, and Calvin, one, died after the family’s Honda Civic collided with a tractor on Jan. 20 at about 6:30 p.m.

It’s unclear which vehicle caused the collision that occurred on I-35 in Love County – about 100 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas near mile marker 24 – but the family was not wearing seat belts.

The couple’s older children, Aldito, 17, and Yitzel, 14, were not in the car at the time of the crash, which is currently under investigation.

Ali Dolatabadi, Aldo’s brother-in-law, said the tragedy has left “an unimaginable void” in their family and a GoFundMe page to cover funeral costs and go to Aldito and Yitzel’s future.

The diver of the semi-truck has been identified as Muhumed Abi, 31, of Savage, Minnesota. According to police, he was not injured in the collision and has not been arrested.

According to a police report, the weather was clear on the day of the accident and the roadway was also dry.

A funeral service was held for the four family members on Sunday in Marietta, Oklahoma, where a large group of people were seen surrounding each of their flower-covered caskets.

A Facebook video posted by Aldo’s cousin Homar Fajado showed a large procession of trucks driving single file on a highway in honor of the family.

‘An entire family was wiped out in one day by a fatal accident. You just never know when your soul will be needed in heaven,” Fajado said in the post.

Aide Dolatabadi, Aldo’s sister, also posted about Sebastian and Calvin, saying, “Your little lives had a special way of making my heart happy.”

A GoFundMe page created in honor of the family and their teenagers raised $77,983 for funeral expenses and went toward Aldito and Yitzel’s future. In the photo: Marisss and her husband Aldo

Marissa’s cousin Lizette Aldama Barrientos posted a collage of photos of the mother and her family on Facebook, saying, “We will never forget you, Aldo, and those precious babies Sebastian and Calvin.”

“Your memories will remain with us forever.”

The donation page set up for the family was originally intended to reach a goal of $25,000, but has now raised $77,983.

“It really means a lot to the families involved, especially the surviving children,” Ali said on the page.

“This is a testament to how much Aldo, Marisa, Sebastian and Calvin have touched and influenced their family, friends and community.”
