‘They got to know me as a person and asked what I was passionate about. They wanted to get to know Brooks as a person, not as a model. I was surprised when I didn’t just walk into the room and hear, “OK, next.” It was like a therapy session.’

Brooks has been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue every year since, but this is her first cover.
