Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant hit back at fans who claimed his legacy was ‘tainted’ and that he had worsened the game Sunday.
The 33-year-old has already switched from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Golden State Warriors to the Nets throughout his career and reportedly wants out of Brooklyn this summer, just a year after inking a four-year extension.
Durant has reportedly demanded a trade and has offered the Nets an ultimatum – either fire general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash or trade him.

Fans were critical of the forward as they claimed he had ruined the game and that his ‘team hopping’ had tainted his legacy.
Taking to social media, one wrote: ‘Without a doubt @KDTrey5 this yo legacy dawg. Left the game in a worse shape than you found it smh’
Durant quote tweeted in reply: ‘I #ruinedthegame?’
On Twitter user claimed the 33-year-old had ‘left the game in a worse shape than he found it’
Another user responded admitting that while Durant had not ruined the game he had tarnished his own name.
They said: ‘Na, but all this team hoppin after a little bit of adversity is kinda tainting your legacy’
Durant hit back, saying: ‘It’s all a matter of perspective my g. U say it’s tainted, I say it’s never been stronger.’

The Nets have been unable to find a suitable trade partner for Durant since he rocked by his request for a trade away from the NBA franchise after three years.
Durant has a few preferred destinations in mind – with Eastern Conference rivals Boston and Philadelphia at the top of the list.
The Celtics in particular have been interested in acquiring the 12-time All-Star and are mulling over an offer or two from the Nets.
However, the initial proposal sent to them by the Nets could be considered outrageous despite Durant’s stature and legendary status.
According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, Brooklyn initially attempted to snag both of Boston’s best players – forward Jayson Tatum and guard Jaylen Brown – in return for Durant.
Initial trade talks saw the Nets asking for both Jayson Tatum (left) and Jaylen Brown (right)
That was shot down almost immediately, with Celtics general manager Brad Stevens unwilling to part with both the 24-year old Tatum and 25-year old Brown in return for a 33-year old Durant.
The Nets might be more eager now to make a move to get Durant out of Brooklyn, following an ultimatum the forward issued Nets owner Joe Tsai.
Tsai took to Twitter following the information release, saying, ‘Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.’
