Brooklyn challenges Dad David to a pancake flipping contest
Brooklyn Beckham challenged her father David to a pancake flipping contest as she showed fans her attempt at making the delicious treat.
The budding chef, 23, shared a slow-motion video flipping his pancake, while asking his father to try the same move with his “eyes closed” in honor of Shrove Tuesday.
While David was quick to respond by praising his son’s “good pancake,” many of Brooklyn’s fans weren’t as keen.
Some of Brooklyn’s followers noted that her pancake was “too thick” and “looked burnt”, though others were quick to defend her baking skills.
Brooklyn has previously come under fire for using fancy ingredients in her Instagram cooking tutorials, including overusing truffles while cooking tagliatelle.
Do not let him fall! Brooklyn Beckham challenged his father David to a pancake flipping contest as he showed fans his attempt at making the delicious treat.
In the slow-motion clip, Brooklyn showed that she had inherited her father’s pancake flipping skills, even proceeding to flip one while blindfolded.
He captioned the video: ‘@davidbeckham but could you do it with your eyes closed?’
Her dad then responded in the comments: “I couldn’t do it with my eyes open, looks like a nice pancake @brooklynpeltzbeckham.”
Earlier in the day, David had shared a clip of himself flipping pancakes for himself and his daughter Harper, with his wife Victoria joking that he was “a jerk”.
Many of those in Brooklyn weren’t all that keen on their pancake attempt, with some noting that it was “too thick.”
One wrote: “That’s not too thick a pancake,” while another added: “Burnt though.”
A third added: ‘That’s not a pancake, that’s a fucking cake!’
One fan added, ‘It looks more like an omelette lol,’ while another also shared, ‘That pancake is too thick!’

Defiant: Yet some users stood up for Brooklyn, telling trolls to ‘leave it alone’
However, some users defended Brooklyn, writing: “Everyone slating the pancake this is how I like mine and I don’t understand people who don’t like it and leave nasty comments but still follow it, what are they?” words? Oh yeah be nice ‼️‼️’
Another commented: “He’s being cheeky with his dad, it’s funny.” Please, he stop taking your pancake so seriously…
‘I don’t understand all the hate for him. Just leave him alone and continue. I like your post,” added a third.
Brooklyn has previously been criticized by her followers for using expensive ingredients and staple recipes while cooking for Instagram viewers.
She recently used truffle to make a tagliatelle, gushing that she could never use too much in her dish.
according to 2021 Dear All, the winter black truffle has an average price of $20.49 an ounce, while the burgundy black truffle is $24.93 an ounce and the summer black truffle is $22.57 an ounce. It is not known what type of truffle Brooklyn used.
Last month, Brooklyn also spent hundreds of pounds on its controversial Michelin-style Sunday roast.
The butchers told MailOnline the meat appeared to be a 5kg cut of sirloin dry-aged for 28 days that would be worth between £200 and £300 at a meat market.
Brooklyn also used copious amounts of butter, which currently commands a sky-high price due to global milk shortages.
Surprised fans were quick to comment on the cost of the meal, with one commenting: “What hurts me the most is that it probably costs more than most British families can afford to spend on food in a week.” [sic]’
That’s expensive! Brooklyn has previously come under fire for his use of fancy ingredients in his Instagram cooking tutorials, including truffles while demonstrating a tagliatelle.
Others added: ‘Heart attack on a plate. totally unnecessary amount of it. Most people’s budgets do not include any type of “aged” meat. In fact, those black gloves put me off anyway. So unattractive!’;
‘I couldn’t afford the amount of butter used! I’d rather pay a tenna per roast than £80 in butter’; “I wonder the cost because the price of the butter was around £430.”
However, Brooklyn also recently showed its fans a cheaper option, having recreated the famous ‘Scouse soup’, which can cost just £2 a slice.
However, fans took advantage of the comments to criticize the recipe, saying that he should have made the soup from scratch and added more vegetables, instead of using a carton of supermarket broth.
