A massive rescue operation was carried out on a beach in Sydney’s east after several people were caught in a rip.
Four people were caught in the rip at Bronte Beach around 8pm on Saturday evening.
A man and three women, all in their 30s, were pulled from the water.
They were later taken to hospital.

A witness said nine beachgoers had been warned “at least 20 times” to get out of the water.
“Unfortunately, some people took the risk and it didn’t turn out so well for them,” they said.
“But it was super scary and everyone on the beach was like, ‘what the hell happened?’
Another described the scene as ‘quite confrontational’.
All four people are in stable condition.
