- Man, 20, shot Monday in Meadow Heights
A gunman is on the loose in Melbourne’s north after a young man was shot while allegedly trying to run into a group of people.
Emergency services were called to a home in Meadow Heights before 7pm on Monday after a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Police are now investigating whether there is a connection with the shooting in nearby Broadmeadows.
The 20-year-old shooting victim reportedly became involved in a dispute with a group of young men on Cob Close in Broadmeadows.
Witnesses claim he drove his car through a fence at a house where the group was before trying to run them over. Herald Sun reported.
It is understood that the man was shot at that moment. He is then believed to have driven himself to the Meadow Heights home.
“When he backed up, he went 180 degrees and then went after the people on the outside of the car,” a witness told the publication.
“Then one of the guys on the outside of the car raised his arm and I heard three or four gunshots.”
Another witness said the group of men appeared to be between 18 and 23 years old.
