Brittany Mahomes has all but confirmed her support for Donald Trump in this year’s election by liking more posts on Instagram expressing her support for the Republican Party.
Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick and a close friend of Taylor Swift, posted photos on Wednesday promoting Chiefs merchandise for the new NFL season.
And in the comments below, she risked stirring up even more controversy when she liked a comment from a follower who said, “TRUMP-VANCE 2024.”
She also liked another post of support, after drawing anger for initially liking a post from Trump about the November election.
“Good to see you’re not giving in,” was the comment she liked. “We’re all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be forced into submission.”

But there were also many other reactions to her post from Democratic supporters, with many calling for a Kamala Harris victory or predicting a “blue landslide.”
Earlier this week, Mahomes, a pregnant mother of two, reposted a comment from pastor and author Shane Pruitt, who appeared to respond to the negative reactions to her behavior.
“Contrary to the tone of today’s world…” the post begins. “You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different opinions and still be kind.”
But Mahomes’ political views appear to put her at odds with Swift, who is in a relationship with Patrick’s Chiefs teammate, Travis Kelce.
The two couples are spending time together this weekend as Swift returns to the United States after a four-month tour in Europe.
In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, Swift said she supported Hillary Clinton over Trump in the 2016 election and accused Trump of treating the presidency like “an autocracy.”
Chiefs quarterback Patrick has never stated his political affiliation and told TIME magazine he has no plans to get involved in politics.
“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a particular president,” he said.

“I want people to have their voices heard, no matter who they believe in. I want them to do their own research.”
The Chiefs have been invited to the White House by President Biden for the past two years to commemorate their Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024.
Mahomes and his teammates were invited to the White House by Trump after their Super Bowl LIV, but were unable to attend due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brittany Mahomes and Swift are expected to attend the Chiefs’ first game of the new NFL season next Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.
