Brittany Mahomes joins Sports Illustrated! Taylor Swift’s new bestie and wife of Chiefs QB Patrick ‘unapologetically herself’ as she shares stunning Belize photoshoot days before Super Bowl

Brittany Mahomes has posed for the 60th anniversary issue of Sports Illustrated Swimming, with the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick announcing her shoot just days before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Mahomes, 28, shared a video of herself posing on a beach in San Pedro, Belize, with SI describing her as “unapologetically herself” before competing as a rookie in their May 2024 edition.

“I’m honestly so humbled and still in disbelief,” Mahomes told the publication.

“As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who only knew sports, I never in a million years thought I would be in the SI swimsuit issue. I am so grateful for this opportunity.”

Mahomes has seen her fame rise by becoming one of Taylor Swift’s “besties” since the singer started dating Travis Kelce, one of Mahomes’ teammates on the Chiefs.

The two often sit next to each other during Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City — they have even celebrated touchdowns with their own handshakes.

And outside of the sport that brought them together, they have often dined in New York, near Swift’s Manhattan mansion.

But Mahomes is also known for her work in football. She is also a former player during her time at the University of Texas at Tyler and spent time with a team in Iceland in 2017.

She retired in 2017 and started her own workout brand, but she is also co-owner and founder of the NWSL women’s team Kansas City Current, in which Patrick also has a stake.

The team will open their own purpose-built women’s football stadium in March, a milestone.

“These women deserve to feel important and have their own facilities so they can perform at their best,” Mahomes said.

‘I hope this raises the bar for women’s sport around the world, and that other cities continue to build around women’s sport. Just as young boys dream of playing in stadiums like Arrowhead, I want young girls everywhere to aspire to play in stadiums like CPKC.”

Last week, Mahomes split the Internet with a video of her asking a security guard for directions after the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens to reach the Super Bowl two weeks ago.

Some fans disliked her demeanor and the way she twirled her finger while talking to the guard in the tunnel. People on social media accused her of being on a ‘high horse’, but others disagreed and insisted she had done nothing wrong.

Mahomes appeared to hit back via a seemingly intentional, thinly veiled post to her Instagram Story with a quote that said, “I take rumors as a compliment. The fact that you bring my name to tables that I don’t sit at shows your obsession. Stay concerned.”

But for now, the entire Mahomes family’s attention is focused on Sunday’s Super Bowl in Vegas, where the Chiefs take on the 49ers.

Patrick is bidding for his third Super Bowl victory as his team looks to join an elite list of teams that have won back-to-back titles.

Brittany, who is already in Vegas for the game, and Patrick met and started dating in high school and have two children together: a son and a daughter. They married in 2022.

However, it is not yet certain whether she will sit next to Taylor during the match.

She is currently midway through a four-day Eras Tour run in Tokyo, Japan, which ends Saturday evening. But Japan is 17 hours ahead of Vegas, meaning time is on Swift’s side if she continues the trip as expected.
