Brittany Mahomes defended by Sports Illustrated after trolls criticize her swimsuit photoshoot in Belize and claim they ‘can’t warm’ to the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick: ‘A true inspiration to us all’
Sports Illustrated has stepped in to defend Brittany Mahomes on Instagram following a series of comments criticizing her for her swimsuit photo shoot in Belize.
The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared a video from her shoot on Thursday and announced she would be joining Sports Illustrated as a swimsuit newcomer.
Mahomes, 28, received mostly compliments and praise over the news, but she still seems like a divisive figure to some β and it prompted SI to intervene in the Instagram comments.
One fan wrote that they “just can’t warm up to this lady” and another said “cringe.”
But another fan wrote that the haters should “sit down and read how amazing Brittany is” and that “some of you in the comments need to start lifting women up instead of tearing them down.”

This weekend, Brittany will cheer on husband Patrick and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in Vegas
Sports Illustrated commented underneath that saying, βI couldn’t have said it better.β
They also commented on a separate post in the comments that read how ‘it’s refreshing to see a woman defined by her achievements…great job for Brittney and for SI to focus on her WORK’ .
SI wrote back: ‘A true inspiration to us all’.
In an SI interview alongside her announcement, Mahomes said, βI want women to feel empowered to always be yourself, love yourself and be confident in whatever you do.
βBe confident in who you are and be unapologetically yourself. People will love you or hate you, but finding your values ββand what makes you the best version of yourself is what really matters.
“I want people to know that they can achieve anything, even things you never thought possible in your wildest dreams.”
Brittany is currently in Vegas for Sunday’s Super Bowl, where husband Patrick is competing for his third title at just 28 years old.
They face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night at Allegiant Stadium.
