In the hours after the Chiefs won their season opener in Kansas City, Brittany Mahomes was brutally mocked on social media after her best friend Taylor Swift attended the game but was without the winning quarterback’s wife.

Mahomes and Swift have been photographed together in suites on several occasions, cheering on Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes and Swift’s boyfriend of a year, Travis Kelce.

On Thursday night, Swift sat next to her new best friend Chariah Gordon — fiancée of another Chiefs star in Mecole Hardman — with other members of the Kelce family filling the suite. In another suite, Brittany Mahomes looked on with her daughter Sterling Skye.

Swift and Mahomes were inseparable during games last season. The new year brought a noticeable change, with personal, extended handshakes and lots of support.

Any rift between the Chiefs WAGs comes shortly after Mahomes endorsed Donald Trump for president. Swift has been an outspoken critic of Trump in the past.

Trump is in his third presidential campaign and has secured the Republican nomination in each attempt. However, his opponents argue that his policies and message have become increasingly divisive over time.

Swift has previously supported Trump’s rivals, but also accused him of “fanning the flames of white supremacy and racism,” “feigning moral superiority” and “threatening violence.”

Brittany appears to be supporting the Republican candidate, with the former president thanking her on Truth Social for her support earlier this week.

Brittany Mahomes’ time in the spotlight hasn’t been without its challenges for her friendship with Swift, as she’s been called out on referees in the past after the Chiefs have lost games.

Last season, the Kansas City WAG drew criticism after she was filmed opening a bottle of champagne in the stands at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium and spraying the bottle over unsuspecting fans sitting below her in the freezing cold.

Swift was spotted leaving Arrowhead Stadium hand-in-hand with Kelce, days after his representatives denied they had plans to split later this month after a document on his US PR firm’s letterhead circulated online.

The documents, believed to have been prepared by Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, show a strategy to push through the split. The announcement date is September 28.

They wrote the following: ‘Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to separate after careful consideration. They value and respect each other’s private lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.’

The documents, which first leaked on Reddit, outlined a plan to release an official statement later this month — three days “after the split” to “give time for the initial media hype to subside and clarity to emerge.”

Kelce appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show” just hours before his lawyers were forced to deny plans for a split. He affectionately called Swift “Tay Tay,” surprising everyone with alleged trouble in paradise.

If there are any problems, it seems to be Swift and Brittany Mahomes. The 14-time Grammy winner knew that her choice of Gordon by her side would not go unnoticed.
