Brittany Mahomes appears to hit back at criticism for liking Donald Trump post with cryptic Instagram message

Brittany Mahomes continues to respond to critics after the NFL star’s wife angered liberals by “liking” a social media post by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The outcry began when Patrick’s high school sweetheart and the mother of his two children liked an Instagram post from the Trump campaign outlining the GOP’s 20-point platform. It’s hard to say what Brittany specifically agreed with, since the post covered everything from border control and canceling the electric vehicle mandate to Trump’s hopes for “new and record levels of success.”

Brittany at least doubled down on her approval of Trump’s Instagram post by retweeting another post by pastor and author Shane Pruitt.

“Contrary to the tone of today’s world…” the post begins. “You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different opinions and still be kind.”

The pregnant mother of two responded strongly to her critics over the weekend, something many feared could bring her into conflict with her friend and staunch left-wing politician Taylor Swift, who has previously criticized Trump.

“Honestly, as an adult, to be a hater you have to have deep rooted issues that you have refused to heal since childhood,” Brittany wrote on Instagram, pointedly declining to clarify her political stance.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce, Patrick’s teammate on the Chiefs and friend of Swift, reportedly contacted Kamala Harris’ campaign team to ask him to attend the DNC last week after she replaced President Joe Biden as the party’s nominee, according to CBS.

Ultimately, Kelce was in attendance at Kansas City’s exhibition game against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, when Harris gave a speech at the convention.

Patrick himself has remained relatively quiet on political matters in recent weeks as the battle for the White House intensifies.

The quarterback has spoken out on social and political issues in the past, but he has never revealed who he votes for.

The 28-year-old joined LeBron James’ “More Than a Vote” campaign to increase African-American voter turnout in the 2020 election between Biden and Trump.

At the time, however, the three-time Super Bowl winner did not publicly endorse any candidate.

This year, it appears Mahomes is taking the same stance as Trump and Harris battle for the White House.

“I don’t want to pressure anybody to vote for a particular president,” Mahomes said in an interview with TIME magazine published last week. “I want people to have their voices heard, no matter who they believe. I want them to do their research.”

In addition to participating in James’ “More Than a Vote” project in 2020, Mahomes pledged to launch a voter registration and engagement project in Kansas City with the Chiefs.

Mahomes, along with his former Chiefs teammate Tyrann Mathieu, Jackson County and Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, provided the funding necessary to make Arrowhead Stadium an official polling place for the 2020 election.

Most of Jackson County, where Kansas City is located, voted Democratic in 2020, with nearly 60 percent voting for Biden over Trump.

The county has voted Democratic in the last 12 presidential elections. However, Missouri is a predominantly red state.

The Chiefs have been invited to the White House by President Biden for the past two years to commemorate their Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024.

Mahomes and his teammates were invited to the White House by Trump after their Super Bowl LIV, but were unable to attend due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
