Brittany Hockley reveals why she is so embarrassed about what happened at the hairdresser she may never go back
Brittany Hockley may never be able to show her face at the hairdresser again after a horrific incident with her dog Delilah.
The Bachelor star, 37, who is currently engaged to Swiss footballer Benjamin Siegrist, is six months into the process of returning her hair to a natural shade ahead of her wedding in Bali.
In the past six months alone, the podcaster and radio host has changed her locks from almost black to auburn and now “bronde.”
Speaking in her Life Uncut podcast on Thursday, Brittany revealed how she was subjected to an embarrassing moment ‘far above’ the worst in her life during an eight-hour stay in a Cronulla hair salon last week.
“I don’t feel ashamed very often,” she told her co-host Laura Byrne. “It’s really hard to embarrass me.”
‘For context, this was a very fancy hairdresser. It’s white. Everything is lush.’
Brittany explained that she had visited the salon three times before this incident and that she knew the all-female staff at this point “well enough” for it to be incredibly humiliating.
She explained that her Australian Shepherd Delilah usually attends her appointments with her.
‘She’s fantastic at the hairdresser. She sits on the lounges, cruises, and she’s usually pretty chill. Everyone loves her,” she said.

At one point during her appointment, Brittany could see in her mirror that the salon staff had gathered around and were whispering and giggling about something.
“They looked a little shocked and looked around,” she said.
“One of them comes up to me and says, ‘Does Delilah have a toy?’
“I said, ‘No, I didn’t bring her anything today.’
Much to the podcaster’s horror, Delilah had taken a small satchel out of her handbag containing an old – and dirty – menstrual cup while she was getting her hair cut.

To Brittany’s shock, a hairdresser asked her, “Can you come take a look?”
“So I go to this group, all standing around her, and she went in my bag,” she continued.
“Her nose was in it.”
To the podcaster’s horror, Delilah had taken a small satchel from her handbag, containing an old – and dirty – menstrual cup.
“She went into my bag, and she took out this little satchel. She opened the bag and she has my menstrual cup which she throws all over the white salon,” she explained.

“I’m talking, she’s tapping it up, she’s chasing it around, the menstrual cup is swinging!” Brittany retold in horror. “I wish I was exaggerating.”
“Delilah is a liability,” Laura chuckled. “But it’s just a period, who cares?”
“It’s going to get worse,” Brittany insisted.
The menstrual cup – a flexible, funnel-shaped cup made of rubber or silicone that women insert to catch and collect blood – was not the one she currently used.
‘It’s very old. Mate, look. It’s so old I didn’t even know it was in there. And it’s stained.
“So she threw my stained menstrual cup all over the hair salon. It looked like there was black mold on it.
‘It was so visible. It’s not like a tampon. It’s the fact that it was so dirty. The dirt didn’t come from me, but everyone thinks it did.’
“She looks so innocent, she didn’t know what she did wrong,” Laura cooed as she watched the video footage of the incident.
“That’s not right, she knew why she was in trouble,” Brittany said.
Laure joked that Delilah facilitated an early departure after such a long period away from home.
The best friends rose to fame after their appearances on The Bachelor, with their Life Uncut podcast reaching new heights in 2024.
This year the two had a show on radio, toured the country to sold-out audiences every night and scooped the Listener’s Choice Award at the Australian Podcast Awards for the third consecutive year.
In addition to the podcast, Laura’s Instagram page has gained a remarkable following and an engagement rate of 5.67 percent.
