Brittany Hockley had to remove sections from her new book calling tennis player Jordan Thompson the “love of her life” after their breakup.
The podcast host, 35, said she was “desperately in love” with the sportsman, 27, and was heartbroken when she had to revise chapters on their relationship.
The couple dated in 2021 but broke up amicably earlier this year.

Brittany, a former Bachelor contestant, has co-authored a book with fellow reality star Laura Byrne called We Love Love: An Unfiltered A to Z of Modern Romance.
She said Yahoo! lifestyle she started writing her chapters on the assumption that she had “met the love of” [my] live and would get married and live happily ever after.”
‘It was clear from the pages and the way I wrote. It was always a lot of, “I understand why everything happened to me in the past, because I found this person and this is why,” and then you fast forward a year to 18 months, and I went through the break- as I I was writing and I had to go back – because you send chapters away as you go – I had to go back and review what I had written,” she said.
She explained that she had “forgotten” most of what she submitted to the publisher and that it was “very difficult to go back and read that.”
Brittany tried “very hard” to get over the breakup, but found herself struggling to move forward when she was forced to reread the Jordan chapters.

“I wouldn’t say it was cathartic at all. I would just say the weather brought up a lot of things. But it’s part of life, it’s part of the roller coaster,” she added.
The pair were in a relationship for nearly two years before breaking up in February, with Brittany revealing that long distance played a part in their breakup.
“I don’t regret it, but it was definitely a very difficult process and very difficult to… you know, I was writing the breakup chapter. [while going through] a breakup, so that wasn’t expected,” she said.

When announcing their split in February, Brittany explained that Jordan was only in the country “seven weeks a year” due to his international tennis career.
While she would accompany him on a number of foreign tours, they often spent a long time apart, which put a strain on their relationship.
When they broke up, she said on her podcast, “I dropped him off at the airport. We said goodbye and said goodbye for good.
“I’m going to stop because I’m getting upset…”
Brittany admitted she took the breakup badly and had days where she would cry in bed, but insisted their breakup was amicable.
When announcing their split in February, Brittany explained that Jordan was only in the country “seven weeks a year” because of his tennis career. Although she accompanied him on some tours, they often broke up for a long time, which put a strain on their relationship
“I can’t explain how tough the past few weeks have been, there were days when I couldn’t get out of bed or stop crying. There is no story here. Nothing bad happened; it was a beautiful and friendly breakup,” she said.
“We thought we were each other’s penguins, but we couldn’t physically be together and he is in the prime of his career. My career is here. We decided to really support each other and go our separate ways.’
Brittany said she wished something bad had happened so she could “hate” Jordan, because that would have made the breakup easier.
“It’s almost more difficult. You wish you could hate them, but when you love someone and were purely distant and you want the best for each other, that makes it so much harder,” she said.
